03 Why We Exist
We are tribal beings and we are meant to wake up and be surrounded by people we love.
We are meant to have various kids running round everywhere entertaining themselves.
We are meant to take it in turns to cook large amounts of food for loads of people and then not need to cook again for a week.
We are meant to not have to work so hard to make ends meet.
We are not meant to have to work so hard to each us sustain our own little independent empire covering loads of isolated and comprehensive expenses alone.
We are meant to have space to breathe.
We are meant to have wildness on our doorstep.
This property has 65 acres of land, 45 of which are wild woodland.
An indoor heated swimming pool that opens onto pristine lawns.
It already has a kitchen garden.
10 bedrooms, a sauna and so much more.
Just a few miles from the Norfolk coast.
We could build an eco village in the woods.
We can start a forest school.
We could run retreats, workshops and festivals.
We can host weddings and celebrations.
And we could give people the chance to come and be healed in a residential setting. People who need to be brought into a space of pure love so their nervous systems can settle.

04 Mission
Our aim is to create a sustainable community with a number of commercial elements. We are excited about the possibilities of workshops, retreats, festivals, forest eco huts, glamping, growing vegetables for sale, cafe, yoga centre and retreat sanctuary where people can come for short and long stays to come back to health, happiness and harmony. We also hope artists will come and be inspired to create here.
These profit-making activities will enable us to live off this land and will also enable us to offer free residential places for those in need who cannot afford to pay.
05 How To Get Involved

Option 6. Invest as non-resident and receive rent
You can invest as much or as little as you want. Each bedroom or separate cottage equates to a certain amount of shares that you can either buy or rent. This secures a room for you whilst also giving you full access to all of the amenities, grounds and ability to monetise projects on the land.
For example, full access and a double bedroom would cost £150,000 to buy outright, meaning there would be no additional rent to pay.
The rent of that room also with full access would be £500 a month.
You could invest any amount and the remaining portion of the room not purchased could be paid in a reduced pro-rata rent.
Each room can also be shared to reduce your cost of living further.
Single rooms are cheaper and there is an option of the dormitory room which could be as little as £100 a month.
If you have children, you may want them to have their own room or they may prefer to be in the shared kid's room which is much more reasonable than investing in another room.
Bills are £100 per adult per month and £25 a child and that includes some savings for renovation and repairs.
There is also an additional shared food budget per person as everyday breakfast, lunch and dinner are co-created on a rota where once a week you are responsible (with helpers) to prepare food for everyone present. Then you don't have to cook again for a week. This wil cost about £100 a week but as we create more produce the price of that will go down considerably.
When investing you will get share certificates that are registered at companies house confirming you as a legal shareholder in Avalon with very robust and simple legal agreements about how we buy in and sell out so we are all really clear and protected.
If buying in, if and when you want to leave, it will be fairly easy to get your money back out by simply finding someone new to buy in which should be fairly easy as so many people now want to live in an intentional community. Many existing communities have waiting lists of people ready to buy in.
As property prices increase and interest and news of Avalon spreads it will be possible to sell your room (shares) at a profit. However, 30% of those profits must be re-invested in Avalon for the purposes of renovation and repairs.
Any commercial venture created at Avalon must share 30% of its profits with Avalon for the purposes of reinvestment, renovation and repairs.
Each week each adult commits to give 4 hours of their time for the community. This is a barter goodwill gifting scheme where all hours of work are considered of equal value. Someone might give 4 hours of therapy, someone else may gift massage and someone else might give 4 hours building an eco-hut or babysitting. All efforts are appreciated and valued equally.
This is just a structured way of ensuring we all get involved and share our gifts to make our lives as beautiful as possible.
Children will also be expected to contribute in fair and age appropriate ways.
